Growin’ Up

Filed under: Uncategorized — cabenelson @ 11:33 pm

Lately, it has been jarring for me to see how fast Wyatt has grown in the past few months.

I find myself asking Kim

“Hey! Did you know he could do that?!”

“Honey! Get over here and check this out!”

“What have you been feeding him?”

It’s even more amazing for me to look back at his pictures (and he has folders and folders just of him)

Still in the hospital all bundled up…

Wyatt Triple

to his first bath…

My wonderful wife has turned into just an amazing mom

This is when he lost of his hair just on the front of his head… he had a baby mullet in the back. I called it, “Business in the front, Party in the back.”

And being a father is my greatest accomplishment. It gives me, my marriage, my life… EVERYTHING extra purpose. I am a proud Dad and I wouldn’t trade this feeling for anything… I might be tempted by the Nikon D700 but I wouldn’t give in. 🙂

  1. My heart melts. A post full of love!

  2. Dude. I got nothin’ but love for that little baby and for you.

You are a great daddy-o, yo.
    Way to go.

  3. Great father/son shot. Makes me wish my dad didn’t grow up to be a pain in the ass and ungrateful to have a son like me. I’m just say’in. 🙂

  6. Cabe, that dear little baby boy. Growing so fast. Soon, he’ll be wanting to borrow your car. (And the Nikon D700 is truly decadent. I played with it in a store the other day and it made my mouth water. Pure luxury, pure hedonistic. Wish I were rich.)

  7. Oh Cabe, I got tears in my eyes reading what you wrote and seeing these pictures.

I was not fortunate enough to have a wonder biological father like you, but God did bless me giving me to other daddies – my precious grandfather and my stepfather.

Be sure and read my post tomorrow. You will see why — and you just helped write it too.
